Q: How much do vehicle wraps cost?
A: A Vehicle Wraps cost is determined by several factors. How much of the vehicle is being wrapped, the type of vehicle being wrapped, the type of film you select, vehicle prep, and installation. We recommend that you schedule a consultation appointment with us to discuss the various options for your vehicle.
Q: How do vehicle wraps compare to paint?
A: Wrap film is not permanent, making it a fast and easy way to change your mind or your color. In many cases, film can be a less expensive option to paint; however, a wrap is not a paint alternative. If the top coat of the paint on your vehicle is peeling, oxidized, or rusted- a wrap is not recommended.
Q: Can wraps be installed over paint scratches, chips, dents, or rust?
A: Wrap film is very thin and flexible to allow it to conform beautifully to the contours of a vehicle. However that also means it also conforms to any imperfections. For example, scratches, chips or dents, which will show through the wrap.
Rust is another matter. Wrap film will stick to the solid surface and finish of an undamaged vehicle. If there is rust present, the film will stick to the rust instead. This will cause the film to fail and not adhere because there is not a clean bonding surface. Before spending the time and money to wrap a damaged or rusted vehicle, we recommend having the area professionally repaired by a Body Repair Shop. The finish on the repairs must be allowed to cure for the period of time specified by the manufacturer before applying film. At the very least, it is typically 30 to 60 days.
Q: Does the wrap film stick to body filler?
A: No, the film will not adhere to auto repair fillers. An epoxy primer/sealer, OEM vehicle paint and/or clear coat must be applied over the auto repair filler. The finish must be allowed to cure for the period of time specified by the manufacturer before applying film. At the very least, it is typically 30 to 60 days.
Q: Will wrap film protect the vehicle’s paint from damage?
A: Vinyl wrap film will protect the paint underneath from some sun damage and mild abrasions. Vinyl Wrap film is not designed to be durable like paint protection film, however a vinyl wrap does provide some minor protection. Although over the course of time a vinyl wrap has the potential to cause damage to the paint surface underneath.
Q: Will the environment damage vehicle wraps?
A: All films (just like paint) are degraded by prolonged exposure to sun and atmospheric pollutants, particularly on horizontal surfaces, such as, the hood, trunk lid, and roof. Whenever possible, store the vehicle in a garage or at least in a shaded area during the day. At night, protect the vehicle from dew or rain, which may contain acidic pollutants (a common problem in many large metropolitan areas). If your wrap film starts to discolor or turn brown (which is caused by acidic pollution), immediately have a professional remove the wrap film from the vehicle to avoid staining the underlying paint. Always reference your maintenance and instruction sheet that we provided to you to ensure proper care of your vehicle wrap.
Q: Does my vehicle need to be clean before I can wrap it?
Yes, of course. Dirt and contaminants on the vehicle’s exterior would be trapped under the film, posing greater harm to your paint and eventually causing vehicle wraps to fail if they were not cleaned off before installation. Thus, we recommend that YOU wash your vehicle prior to your scheduled drop off time. We will then thoroughly continue the vehicle paint prep, which will include washing inside of any vehicle seams, wheel arches, door jams, etc. The vehicle will then receive a full clay bar decontamination of the paint by removing any debris, such as, sap, bugs, or tar. Followed by a full alcohol bath to remove any wax or build up on the paint. The vehicle will then sit inside to fully dry out overnight and ready for wrap installation the next day.
Q: Why are your prices higher than everyone else?
As the age old saying goes, “you get what you pay for”. Our prices reflect the quality of work that goes into each project, and all of our installations are incredibly thorough & time consuming. The speedy and cheap install typically leads to vehicle wraps being hacked up instead of meticulously hand cutting or using a “knifeless” tape. These type of installs lead to films not being properly applied. That ultimately leads to a shorter life expectancy for the wrap. Or damage to the paint surface underneath. We make sure that your vehicle’s exterior is spotlessly clean prior to installation to ensure proper adhesion and prevent film failure.
Q: Can you remove vehicle wraps?
Yes, definitely. It can be a bit of a tedious process to undertake depending on how long the vehicle has been wrapped. We do offer wrap removal services and would be happy to assist you. Contact us with more information about what type of wrap you would like to have removed. Removal fees vary based on the areas of wrap coverage, length of time the vehicle has been wrapped, and if adhesive primers or sealers were used.
